Protect your comforter with a duvet cover |
|
May 01, 2003 By: Kristen McCarthy Protect your comforter with a duvet coverA duvet cover will protect your high quality comforter, and add some style to your bedroom. The care and cleanliness of your duvet cover is equally important as the comforter itself. A duvet cover can come in a wide range of materials, like silk or cotton. Looking at its thread count is always a good way to ensure your cover is top of the line. Ideally, the thread count should be at least 200, and blend at 50% cotton for natural softness, and 50% polyester for no-iron convenience. Although for allergy reason, organic 100% cotton is always a better bet. Although a duvet cover is usually cotton, alternative fabric choices are popular as well, like silk, stain and velvet. A silk duvet cover should be very slick and silky, and tightly woven. Velvet covers are best when it’s 100% high pile plush on both sides. If you want the warranty on your comforter intact, it’s a wise choice to use a duvet cover to protect it. Keep your duvet cover clean and your comforter will stay good as new.
